Just 25 miles North of New York City, in a place known for its legends, lies a historic medieval castle, over-looking the majestic Hudson River. The Castle at Tarrytown, situated on 10 acres at the top of a hill, formerly called Carrollcliffe and late Axe Castle, was built in two stages between 1900 and 1910 by General Howard Carroll, the son of a Civil War General.
The Castle has changed very little in its 113 years. Much of the original interior woodwork and furnishings, still remain intact.
